TN Visa for Canadian and Mexican Professionals PDF Print E-mail

The TN Visa is a temporary work visa granted under the Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) to professional citizens of Canada and Mexico. Allows the person to work in the U.S. for a period of 3 years (can be extended indefinitely.) The worker must meet the profile required by the employer and show that its temporary work, so it must show that they don’t intend to remain living in the U.S. but plan to return to Mexico or Canada after completing his work with the U.S. employer.

The beneficiary's immediate family (spouse and unmarried minor children) may enter the U.S. with the TD visa and accompanying worker. The TD visa is not allowed to work, but allows family study.

The number of visas is limitless and the process is quite fast. It is necessary to start the process for this visa at least 2 months before the worker is needed.

Requirements:

  • Be Mexican or Canadian;
  • Have a career numbered in NAFTA;
  • The person must fill the characteristics required by the employer;
  • Have a U.S. employer to sponsor a person;
  • That the work is temporary;
  • Demonstrate that the worker will returned to his country upon completion of the job
